ChristianSurfers Pembrokeshire is part of the wider network of Christian Surfers International and Christian Surfers UK. Around the globe we are simply a group of people who share a passion for surfing and a passion for Christ! CS Pembrokeshire is still a new strand of the organization, started by my husband, Paul and me when we moved to the area in the summer of 2008.
Since starting the group we have focused on creating a small group of other Christians who surf and share our vision, by talking to youth groups and churches to present Christian Surfers to them. We have also contacted churches and Christian bookshops with posters and dates of meet-ups. We are interested in taking Christian Surfers further around the county. Let me know if you’re interested!
CS Pembrokeshire meets monthly for a surf and coffee or food to simply share fun times and disciple each other. We do not discriminate between denominations any more than we discriminate on surfing ability! It’s encouraging to see a core group begin to emerge in the county and we always welcome new faces. Our aim is to serve local surfers in any way we can and to be ‘salt’ and ‘light’ to those around us – as Jesus taught us to be.
For example, we have assisted at the Welsh National Surfing Competition by carrying out any jobs that might be asked of us:-serving teas and coffees to the workers; judging; general to-ing and fro-ing of equipment and generally being a Christian presence on the beach. It’s our purpose to simply ‘BE’ who Christ made us to be and to share that with those we build a relationship with.
